I think its turning into my favorite Radiohead album, but it needs headphones/good speakers. I listened to it for the first time in my car, and it didn’t help that I was incredibly tired; now I have my headphones on.
Tonally, I’m getting a very In Rainbows vibe on the second listen, almost like The King of Limbs didn’t happen. There are a bunch of hidden guitar sounds, or sounds that don’t sound like traditional guitars, but also many traditional guitar sounds. This is something I didn’t expect after hearing all the strings on the first two singles.

I love Radiohead, but this one is sleepier than King of Limbs. I listened from around 2:30 when I DL’d to around 6 on repeat on my main system (good hifi in an acoustic treated room) and there really isn’t one song that made me love it...KoL had a few. It’s beautiful music, but it is, in my opinion, the least interesting thing they’ve ever done.

Hoping to get a chance to listen to the whole thing tonight. I didn’t love KoL, but there were a couple non-album singles from that era that I fucking LOVED .
I didn’t really listen to or like them particularly until around 2004, when I rediscovered OK Computer and realized how devastating it was. In Rainbows had some hits, some misses, for me. Regardless my opinion of them, I love, love, love what they do, love their process, love their re-framing the context of “popular” music for the last 15 years.

True Love Waits is the last song on this record, and the setup of the whole album followed by this song leaves me absolutely devastated when it’s over. It’s a sad album, but one that I’ll keep coming back to.
